Unlike standard access panels, the AL-9500 is purpose-built to eliminate potential ligature points. Its formed door panel with reinforced edges and concealed hinge design create a smooth, continuous surface once installed which contributes to the clean, low-profile aesthetic that resists tampering and misuse.

Each unit is fully gasketed using a Pemko S88 adhesive-backed silicone bulb gasket, ensuring an airtight seal between the door and frame — a key feature for maintaining privacy, hygiene, and controlled environments.

Durable Construction with Secure Hardware Options

Crafted from 14-gauge steel (also available in stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance), the AL-9500 delivers long-term strength in demanding applications. The fully welded frame flange with radiused corners enhances both the visual appeal and the safety of the installation, removing all sharp edges while increasing structural rigidity.

Each door comes standard with a tamper-proof spanner head cam latch, with optional security configurations available — including Torx head, Torx head with security pin, Cylinder lock, or Mortise lock options to meet institutional specifications.

A baked white prime coat finish is applied at the factory, with the recommendation of an additional finish coat for superior corrosion protection.

Precision Fit for Walls and Ceilings

The AL-9500 is designed for both wall and ceiling installations, providing a consistent fit across a variety of substrates. Every model is fabricated to allow for a precise 3/8” clearance around the opening, ensuring the gasket performs optimally and the door remains flush once installed.

Standard sizes range from 12" × 12" to 24" × 36", with custom dimensions available upon request, allowing architects and specifiers the flexibility to match exact project needs.
