Built for the Job: A Closer Look at Acudor’s Angle-Frame Floor Doors
What Sets Angle-Frame Floor Doors Apart?
When it comes to floor access, one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why Acudor offers a full line of floor doors engineered to meet the demands of commercial, industrial, and institutional environments. Our angle-frame line — including the FA-300, FA-300-RETROFIT, and FA-H20 — delivers simplicity, durability, and performance for general-purpose applications.
Each of these floor doors are purpose-built to deliver secure, reliable access—whether you're installing in new concrete or retrofitting an existing slab.
What Sets Angle-Frame Floor Doors Apart?
Unlike channel-frame doors which are designed for gasketing, watertight seals, or specialty inserts, Acudor’s angle-frame models offer a straightforward and durable access solution for general-use environments. They are built for flush installation into concrete slabs, delivering reliability without the added complexity of recessed lids or drainage considerations. With exposed aluminum angle frames and heavy-duty hardware, these doors are ideal for areas where a clean, functional design is preferred over specialized finishes.
Angle-frame doors, whether installed in new concrete or retrofitted into an existing slab, provide dependable performance while simplifying installation and maintenance.
FA-300: The Go-To for General Purpose Concrete Applications
The FA-300 is Acudor’s standard angle-frame floor door, built for interior or exterior use in concrete slabs where watertightness or fire-resistance isn't a requirement. Its flush aluminum diamond plate cover and mill finish frame make it an ideal solution for mechanical rooms, utility spaces, or anywhere straightforward floor access is needed.
Highlights:
- ¼” aluminum diamond plate cover reinforced for live load of 300lb/ft2
- Fabricated from aluminum extrusion with an integral 1" anchor flange
- Hold-open arm with automatic locking and release handle
- Lift assistance via stainless steel compression springs where required
- Frame is embedded directly into new concrete pours
FA-300-RETROFIT: For Slabs That Can’t Be Re-Poured
Need to add floor access without disturbing an existing slab? The FA-300-RETROFIT offers all the utility of the FA-300, but with a surface-mount frame that bolts directly into place. This makes it the go-to option for renovation work or mechanical upgrades where re-pouring concrete isn’t feasible.
FA-H20: Strength Where It Counts
When your floor door needs to withstand vehicle traffic or rolling loads, the FA-H20 steps up. The ¼" aluminum diamond-plate door is reinforced to meet AASHTO specification H-20-44 for traffic loading making it suitable for service areas, loading docks, and other environments with increased load-bearing demands.
Choosing the Right Angle-Frame Model
- FA-300: Best for new concrete installs where general access is needed
- FA-300-RETROFIT: Ideal for renovations, retrofits, and upgrades
- FA-H20: Required when load ratings matter—vehicle traffic or rolling equipment
Each of these doors is built with Acudor’s commitment to quality and field-proven performance. Whether you’re designing a new building or upgrading an existing space, our angle-frame doors deliver reliable, long-lasting access.
