Case Study: Fresno VA Medical Center – Chilled Water Infrastructure Upgrade

To support growing infrastructure demands at the Fresno VA Medical Center, a comprehensive upgrade was launched to expand the hospital’s chilled water piping system and enhance its distribution capacity. A crucial element of the project included constructing an Overhead Pedestrian Canopy, designed to improve accessibility 
while discreetly housing vital utility lines.
The engineering team at Triple C – The A-C Group required highly specialized stainless steel access doors to conceal the infrastructure associated with the hospital’s chillers, without compromising on long-term serviceability.
D-Square Construction, the general contractor, selected Acudor Products as the basis of design to fulfill this requirement.

We engineered and manufactured 250 custom UF-5000 access doors across four unique sizes, each crafted in a special stainless-steel finish with gas strut lift assists, three-point latches, and cut & drop handles with keyed locks. These doors were tailor-made to support both security and ease of maintenance for the newly installed systems.

From refining submittal drawings over several months to overcoming delays caused by COVID-19, our team stayed the course—ensuring timely production and delivery of every unit.
Beyond the technical achievement, this project was personally meaningful for our team.
