Introducing Acudor ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W Zero Leak Access Doors
When water infiltration is not an option, choosing the right access door is critical. In applications where water can build up behind a wall or surrounding structure, a conventional access door may not provide an acceptable level of protection required. For projects where preventing water from passing through an access opening is essential, Acudor now offers two specialized solutions: the ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W Zero Leak Access Doors.
Engineered for demanding environments, these access doors are tested for applications requiring zero water leakage beyond the door. Whether protecting sensitive equipment, securing underground infrastructure, or providing access to water-exposed areas, the ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W deliver purpose-built solutions for projects where water infiltration must be prevented.
Designed for Applications Where Water Protection Is Critical
Water intrusion can create significant challenges for building owners, facility managers, contractors, and engineers. In certain environments, even a small amount of water penetration can threaten sensitive electrical equipment, disrupt operations, or compromise the integrity of protected spaces.
The Acudor ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W are designed for vertical wall applications where water may accumulate behind the access opening. Both models are tested for applications requiring zero leakage into the area beyond the door, making them suitable for demanding water-protection requirements.
Typical applications include storm surge tanks, underground vaults housing electrical or sensitive equipment, lateral access to building interiors, and other areas where preventing water infiltration is essential.
By incorporating a specialized zero-leak access solution, project teams can address the need for access while maintaining the required level of water protection.
Two Solutions to Meet Different Installation Requirements
Although both models provide zero-leak performance, the ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W are designed for different installation methods. Selecting the appropriate model depends on the construction type and the requirements of the project.
Which model is right for your project? The ZLDR-W is designed for Retrofit installation into existing concrete structures, while the ZLDC-W is intended to be cast into concrete. Understanding the installation requirements early in the project can help ensure the appropriate solution is specified.
ZLDR-W: Designed for Retro-fit and Bolted Installation
The Acudor ZLDR-W Zero Leak Access Door is designed for vertical wall applications and can be bolted into existing concrete structures. Its installation method makes it a practical option for projects where the concrete structure is already in place and an access opening needs to be incorporated. ZLDR-W is Certified to withstand up to 3 PSI of static pressure from the inside.
Designed to provide a flush finish with the surrounding surface, the ZLDR-W offers a solution for retrofit and existing-construction applications where access and water protection are both essential.
ZLDC-W: Designed to Be Cast Into Concrete
The Acudor ZLDC-W Zero Leak Access Door is designed for vertical wall applications where the door is cast directly into concrete. This installation method makes it well suited to new construction projects where the access door can be incorporated as part of the concrete work.
ZLDC-W is Certified to withstand up to 10 PSI of static pressure from the inside.
Like the ZLDR-W, the ZLDC-W is designed to provide a flush finish with the surrounding surface and is certified for applications requiring zero water leakage beyond the door.
Standard Sizes and Custom Solutions
Every project has its own requirements, and access openings are no exception. To accommodate a range of applications, both the ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W are available in the following standard sizes:
- 24" × 24"
- 30" × 30"
- 36" × 36"
Custom sizes are also available to help meet specific project requirements. This flexibility gives contractors, engineers, and specifiers additional options when planning installations that require specialized access and zero-leak performance.
For projects with unique dimensions or installation considerations, contacting Acudor early in the design process can help determine the most appropriate access door solution.
Why Choose Acudor Zero Leak Access Doors?
When specifying access doors for water-critical environments, product selection is about more than providing an opening for maintenance or inspection. The solution must also address the conditions surrounding the installation and the consequences of water infiltration.
The Acudor ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W offer several important advantages:
- Zero Leak performance: Designed and Tested for applications requiring zero water leakage beyond the door.
- Protection for critical spaces: Suitable for environments where water intrusion could affect sensitive electrical equipment or other protected areas.
- Installation flexibility: Two models accommodate different construction methods, including bolted installation into existing concrete and casting directly into concrete.
- Quality Materials: Both models are built with A-36 Galvanized Steel and 316 Stainless Steel hardware.
- Standard and custom sizing: Standard dimensions and custom-size availability provide flexibility for a variety of project needs.
Together, these features make the ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W specialized access solutions for projects where water protection is a critical consideration.
Find the Right Zero Leak Access Door for Your Project
When a project requires access through a wall exposed to water buildup, choosing the right access door is an important part of meeting the overall water-protection requirements. Acudor's ZLDR-W and ZLDC-W Zero Leak Access Doors provide two installation options for applications where water infiltration beyond the door must be prevented.
Whether your project calls for a door bolted into an existing concrete structure or one cast directly into concrete, Acudor offers standard and custom sizing options to help meet your needs.
